New for 2009! Continuing to break new ground, Big Agnes has taken patented BOA lacing reels and applied it to its new 3-person backpacking/camping tent, the Slide Mountain SL 3. In the process, they've created the first integrated Fly Tensioning System, allowing you to cut down on the "flapping" of your rainfly in blustery conditions! Used fairly extensively in trail running shoes, the twin BOA lacing reels are imbedded on the ceiling of the Slide Mountain SL 3 so that you can make micro adjustments to the tension of the rainfly without ever having to leave the interior of the tent. Extremely durable and lightweight, tensioning cords lead from the reels to the corner points of the tent. Eco-friendly anodized DAC Combination NSL Featherlite poles provide structure and the basis for fly tension. DAC Twist clips and a hub/pole design make the Slide Mountain SL 3 easy to put up and tear down. In addition to the tensioning system, the Slide Mountain SL 3 offers maximum livability through the use of a space-creating pole design. Twin cross poles increase the verticality of the tent's side walls and help to achieve a cabin-like shape. The 44 square feet of interior space provide ample room for up to three or serves as a really spacious 2-person shelter. Dual doors and vestibules offer convenient access, weather-protected entry and 30 total square feet of external storage space. Four internal mesh storage pockets help to maintain available floor space by stowing gear out of the way. Integrated interior loops offer connection points for a Big Agnes Large Wall Gear Loft (sold separately). Mesh panels on the ceiling and walls of the tent body maximize cross ventilation and provide circulation to fight condensation build-up. Coated with waterproof polyurethane, the rip-stop nylon floor and rainfly are lightweight and durable.
